The Pilates Academy

Online certification

Learn from anywhere. Never alone.

The same certification. A different way to earn it.

The real question was never whether you can study online. It’s whether you’ll be ready to teach.

Most online certifications hand you a login and a library of videos. Ours gives you a mentor who knows your name, live sessions every week where you actually teach, and a team that won’t sign your certificate until you’re ready.

Let’s start with the doubt

“Can you really learn to teach Pilates through a screen?

It’s the first thing almost every graduate tells us they worried about. So here’s the honest answer, in two parts.

No — not the way most schools do it

If online means a library of recorded videos, a quiz, and a certificate in the post, then no. You’d finish knowing the repertoire and still freeze the first time a real person asks you to fix their back.

We tried that model early on. Plenty of students never finished. The ones who did often didn’t feel ready to teach. That wasn’t good enough, so we stopped.

Yes — when someone is watching you teach

What actually builds a teacher isn’t watching. It’s teaching, badly, in front of someone qualified who stops you and tells you what to fix. That part doesn’t need a shared room. It needs a camera and a mentor who shows up.

So that’s what we built the program around: live sessions every week where you teach and get corrected, until it stops feeling like a performance and starts feeling like your job.

Anywhere. Anytime. Never alone.

How a week actually works

Three live sessions. One task package. Your own hours.

There are no fixed class times and no cohort start dates. What there is, every single week, is someone waiting to see you teach.

01
On your own time

Your weekly task package

Video lessons, reading and assignments arrive as a complete package. Work through it at 6am or 11pm. Speed up when you have time, slow down when life gets in the way — there are no deadlines to fail.

02
Live · twice a week

Two private sessions with your mentor

One-on-one, face to face. You teach, they correct. You bring the exercise that isn’t working, the cue that isn’t landing, the client scenario you can’t solve. Included in every track, never an add-on.

03
Live · once a week

Group Practice Lab

You teach in front of other students and watch them teach. Learning to hold a room is a separate skill from knowing the repertoire, and this is where you build it.

04
Throughout

Your mentoring workbook

A dedicated workbook you open together with your mentor during your live sessions. Everything you’re working on lives in one place, so nothing gets lost between one week and the next.

Choose your track

Four tracks. One standard of support.

Every track includes the same weekly live mentoring, the same teaching practice and the same lifetime access. The only difference is how much of the method you want to be qualified to teach.

Not sure which one?

Almost nobody is at this stage. Tell us where you want to teach and we’ll point you at the track that actually fits — sometimes that’s the shorter one, and sometimes it’s the in-person program instead.

What you’ll actually learn

Not a syllabus. What you’ll be able to do.

Each track builds on the one before it, and every hour you complete carries forward if you upgrade later.

What your tuition actually buys.

Two private mentor sessions a week

Live, one-on-one, with a mentor who knows your name and your progress. Not a group average and not a chatbot.

A weekly group Practice Lab

You teach in front of people and watch others teach. The rehearsal room for the day you stand in front of a real class.

Your mentoring workbook

Used together with your mentor during live sessions, so your progress is tracked in one place instead of scattered across notes.

Your training kit, shipped

Mat, ring, resistance bands, ball, grip socks and your printed workbook arrive at your door. You don’t have to source a thing.

Lifetime access

Every lesson, recording and resource stays yours — including the updates we add after you’ve graduated.

The Go Pilates Club

Workshops, member discounts and a global instructor network that stays open to you long after you certify.

From our graduates

They all started with the same doubt.

I almost didn’t enroll because I was worried an online certification would feel impersonal — that I’d be left to figure everything out on my own. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Every question was answered so quickly, and I always felt like someone genuinely cared about my progress.
EEmily, 36Certified graduate
I was skeptical about taking a Pilates certification online. I kept thinking, “Can you really learn this way?” What surprised me most was how supported I felt. I never felt like I was learning alone — it was much more personal than I expected.
JJessica, 44Certified graduate
My biggest concern was that online training wouldn’t prepare me to teach real clients confidently. The support completely changed my mind. I finished feeling confident, prepared, and excited to start teaching.
MMichelle, 53Certified graduate
Before you ask

The questions that stop people signing up.

Do I need a reformer or equipment at home?
No. Your training kit covers everything you need for the mat work, and it ships to you. For reformer tracks, your practice and teaching hours are guided by your mentor over video while they’re on their own equipment, so you don’t need a machine at home to build real hours.
Do I need experience before enrolling?
Teaching experience, no — most of our students have never taught. A regular personal Pilates practice, yes. You should be comfortable in your own body in the work before you start guiding someone else through it.
How long does it take?
That’s up to you, because the program is self-paced. Students who study intensively finish Mat in a few months; students fitting it around a job and children take longer, and that’s completely fine. There are no deadlines to miss and no cohort to fall behind.
Can I do this while working full-time?
Yes, and most of our students do. The coursework is entirely self-paced. The only fixed commitments are your live mentoring sessions, which you schedule with your mentor around your week rather than the other way around.
Will studios and gyms recognize this certification?
Mat and Mat + Reformer make you eligible to sit the NPCP Mat examination (the PMC credential). The 450-hour Comprehensive makes you eligible to sit the NCPT examination. Reformer on its own awards a Go Pilates Academy certificate rather than an NPCP credential. In every case the credential is earned by passing NPCP’s exam — our programme is your pathway to sit it.
Is it the same certificate as the in-person program?
Identical. Same method, same mentors, same standards, same credential. The certificate doesn’t record how you earned it — it records that you’re qualified.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes, and many students do. Start with Mat, add Reformer later, or continue to Comprehensive. Every hour you’ve already completed counts toward the next level — you continue from where you stopped rather than starting again.
What happens after I certify?
You keep lifetime access to every lesson and resource, and you join the Go Pilates Club — workshops, member discounts, and a network of instructors in more than 30 countries who share openings, advice and referrals.
Are payment plans available?
Yes, on every track. We’ll walk through the options with you on your call so you can plan properly rather than guess.
Ready when you are

Let’s work out which track is yours.

A short conversation about where you are, what you want to teach, and which track gets you there. We’ll tell you honestly if online isn’t the right shape for you.

A real person replies, usually within a day. No pressure, no bots.
