The Pilates Academy

About the academy

Anywhere. Anytime. Never alone.

Three words that decided everything about how this school is built — including the things that cost us more and make us slower.

Anywhere

Where you live shouldn’t decide what you’re allowed to become. Our students study from apartments in New York, living rooms in Los Angeles, and towns we’d never heard of before they enrolled. The certification travels with you.

Anytime

You’re a mother, or you have a job, or both. So the program fits your schedule rather than the other way around. Your coursework happens on your hours, and your live sessions are booked around your week — not a fixed daily timetable, and no cohort you can fall behind.

Never alone

This is the one we’re proudest of, and the one that cost the most to build. Every student gets a mentor who knows her name, watches her teach, and is there the week nothing makes sense. It is not an upgrade. It is the program.

How we learned this

Great content wasn’t enough.

We could record excellent lessons, build a beautiful platform, and give a student everything she needed to know — and it still didn’t guarantee she’d feel ready to teach.

The missing piece was never more material. It was a person. Someone to notice when she was stuck, watch her teach, correct her, and turn what she knew into confidence.

So we rebuilt the whole experience around that. Live mentoring every week, real teaching practice with someone watching, and a certificate we don’t sign until you’re ready.

It costs more to run and it’s harder to scale. We think it’s the only version worth having.

Chen, founder of Go Pilates Academy
Meet our founder

Hi, I’m Chen.

Before I built this academy I spent years teaching, running a studio, and training instructors — which meant seeing both sides: what a student needs in order to learn, and what a studio actually needs her to know on her first day.

It also means I know exactly what people are afraid of when they look at an online certification: that they’ll be handed a login and left alone with it.

I watched too many talented women stop. Not because they couldn’t do the work, but because nobody was there when they got stuck. So I built the opposite.

Mentors who learn your name. Weekly sessions where you actually teach, out loud, and get corrected. And a team that won’t sign your certificate until you’re genuinely ready to hold a room.

If you’re willing to do the work, we’ll never let you do it alone.

In their words

Does any of this actually happen?

I never felt like I was figuring things out on my own, and that made such a difference.
Rebecca · North Carolina
Some weeks I studied every evening. Other weeks life got busy. Being able to learn at my own pace is the reason I actually finished.
Morgan · Minnesota
The first practice session was terrifying. My mentor talked me through it, and suddenly it didn’t feel impossible anymore.

Our method

The Flow Method™

Most training teaches exercises. We teach what happens between them.

The gap nobody teaches

A class isn’t a list of exercises. It’s a sequence, and the moments between one exercise and the next are where a room either stays with you or falls apart. That’s where new instructors lose people, and it’s almost never taught.

What we do instead

We build every repertoire around transitions from the first week. You learn to move a body from one position to the next with intention, so your class reads as one continuous thing rather than a series of stops.

Why it matters for you

It’s the difference between a class that’s technically correct and one people rebook. It’s also one of the things that can make a new instructor look far more experienced in an audition — not just knowing the exercises, but knowing how to connect them.

The people behind it

You’re not learning from a platform.

Behind every student there’s a mentor, a student success manager, and a team that answers messages. Not a ticketing system.

Your mentor

Certified instructors who meet you live, watch you teach, and correct you. The same person throughout, so nobody has to be caught up each week.

Student success

Someone whose job is to notice when you’ve gone quiet and reach out — before a hard week becomes the reason you stop.

The community

The Go Pilates Club — instructors across 30+ countries who share openings, advice and referrals. Open to you long after you certify.

Ready when you are
