Mat Pilates Certification FAQ

Can I start working with just mat training?

Absolutely! Mat certification allows you to start working as an instructor in studios and gyms, teach private sessions and group classes. It’s an excellent entry point into the Pilates world.

  • Learn at your own pace from anywhere in the world
  • Lifetime access to all course materials and updates
  • Review complex movements with unlimited video replays
  • Practice teaching in a comfortable environment before going live
  • Save on travel and accommodation costs
  • Access to international instructors and diverse teaching styles

Yes, we require at least 2 months of Pilates practice. You should be familiar with basic exercises and principles. This ensures you have a foundation to build upon.

What equipment do I need for the mat course?
  • A quality Pilates mat (thicker than a yoga mat)
  • Stable internet connection for live sessions
  • Webcam and microphone for practice teaching
  • Basic props: resistance band, small ball, foam roller
  • Space to move freely (approximately 2×2 meters)

Yes! The mat certification is a perfect foundation. You can later add:

  • Reformer certification (additional 120 hours)
  • Full apparatus training (additional 270 hours)
  • Specialized workshops (prenatal, seniors, rehabilitation) All previous coursework counts toward advanced certifications.

We recommend 10-15 hours per week for optimal progress. This includes:

  • Video lessons (3-4 hours)
  • Personal practice (3-4 hours)
  • Reading and assignments (2-3 hours)
  • Live practice sessions (2 hours)
What if I can't attend live sessions?

All live sessions are recorded and available within 24 hours. While live attendance is beneficial for immediate feedback, you can progress through the course using recordings.

  • Submit video recordings of your practice teaching
  • Receive detailed written feedback within 48 hours
  • Attend optional live practice labs for real-time coaching
  • Book 1-on-1 mentorship sessions (additional fee)
  • Group mat classes in gyms and studios
  • Private mat sessions (in-person or online)
  • Corporate wellness programs
  • Senior living facilities
  • Community centers and recreation programs
  • Your own online Pilates business
